Varying Secularism

Focus here should not be on Dr. Bilal Philips but rather trying to point out that religious people are not stupid or naive. Muslims also have to realize that ALLAH explains in His book, that not everyone is going to understand and believe; only those whom he allowed from His mercy and wisdom (it makes them deprived, but not stupid). ALLAH has said:

Which means,

"I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them." (7:144)

Please heed this disclaimer: DO NOT USE THIS TO PICK A FIGHT WITH A DISBELIEVER! If you are challenged by a disbeliever, keep calm, and keep it simple. Determine if this person even has an interest in Islam being truth, and will even entertain the possibility that he or she is wrong; some people have no desire for Islam to be good, so they will use controversy to digress from reason and fundamentals. It is a waste time to argue with a fitnah maker. But it is beneficial to engage in peaceful and meaningful discourse. ALLAH knows best.

A trend of blame in the Muslims Ummah

There is something I have noticed, which I believe Muslims have given too much preference to, especially over self correction and affirmation of proper belief and worship.

Regarding this trend among the Muslims to boycott Israel by not doing business with them and buying their products, there is good in this. People who do this are telling the world that they are not satisfied with the situation of the Israeli occupation of Palestine and are declaring manifest disapproval. They should, however, note, that not all of what they boycott is obligatory to avoid; thus, they must be cautions of another trend among Muslims today, which is to blame the one who does not join in boycotting, and accuse them of being sinful and supporting the murder of Muslims. To make the right decision in this matter, one must understand how the Prophet, peace be upon him, dealt with Jews and/or the Children of Israel, during like situations.

The conclusion, supported by the facts below, is that it is only obligatory to boycott that which directly funds the provisions of military force, i.e. weapons, explosives, and anything else that is used to wage war on the Muslims. If it is not confirmed as such, as for instance, if the revenue is only being sent as humanitarian aid to help civilians, or to fund other things, the patron is not a sinner if one chooses to continue consuming these products, until confirmation that these transactions paid revenue to the enemy's armed forces, at which point (only), this transaction is HARAAM. Shaykh Saalh al-Fawzaan was asked:

Question: "Oh noble Shaykh, in the newspapers these days it is written that there is a call to boycott the American products, and to stop the buying and selling of these products. Also, from this is the claim that appeared in one the newspapers that the 'Ulamaa. (scholars of Islaam) have called for the boycotting of these products and that this is something that is obligatory upon every individual Muslim, and that buying even a single one of these products (produced in America) is forbidden, forbidden (haraam, haraam), and that the person who does this has done a major sin (Kabeerah), and that he is helping these people (the Americans) and helping the Jews in their fighting against the Muslims. So I hope from your eminence that you can give some clarity regarding this matter due to there being a need for that. And is a person rewarded (by Allaah) for this action (of boycotting American goods)?"

Response:" Firstly, I request a photocopy of this statement in specific from the newspaper that is mentioned here by the questioner. Secondly, this is not correct. The scholars have not given a fatwa (religious verdict) declaring the goods produced by America to be forbidden (haraam), and the goods from America are still being imported and sold in the market places of the Muslims (i.e. in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), and these products that you buy from America are still available. There has been no religious verdict issued against this. Cutting off relations and boycotting is not to be done unless there is a decree issued by the Muslim authorities. If the authorities issue a decree calling for the prohibition (of particular goods) or boycotting a country from among the many countries, then it is obligatory to boycott that country. However, in reference to individuals who want to do this or they give religious verdicts that this is something forbidden, then this is a declaration of forbiddance that Allaah has not allowed. It is not permissible to do this. Yes. "

    From the early scholars,
Imam al-Bukhaari (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Chapter: Buying and selling with the mushrikeen and people who are at war with Islam.

Then he narrated (2216) that ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Abi Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) then a mushrik man came with some sheep that he was driving. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Are they for sale or a gift?” He said: “For sale.” So he bought a sheep from him

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Sharh Saheeh Muslim (11/14):
The Muslims are unanimously agreed that it is permissible to interact with ahl al-dhimmah (non-Muslims living under Muslim rule) and other kuffaar, so long as the object of the transaction is not haraam, but it is not permissible for a Muslim to sell weapons or tools of war to those who are waging war against the Muslims, or anything that helps them to support their religion.

Ibn Battaal said: dealing with the kuffaar is permissible, except for selling things to those who are at war with the Muslims that may help them against the Muslims.

It was narrated in al-Majmoo’ (9/432) that there is scholarly consensus that it is forbidden to sell weapons to people who are waging war against Muslims.

The reason for that is obvious, which is that these weapons will be used to fight the Muslims.

Later scholars have said other things, but what is available in English of their statements does not compare to the above referenced daleel, and ALLAH knows best, and may he have mercy on ALL the scholars of the Muslims ummah.”

    Indeed ALLAH alone knows best.

My Take on Palestine vs Israel

Firstly, I have not been appropriately charismatic as my brethren in Islam are; may ALLAH forgive me for what I lack and increase me and reward those who show due concern.

I can only speak with justice about the issue of killing, as I have not read enough of the history to explain in detail how this situation came to be. What I know is that it is wrong for Israeli's to treat the Arabs in Palestine as less than human.

Palestinians, remember this and refresh your imaan, your iti'bah to the sunnah, and establish ikhlas in your hearts and actions, or you will fail. ALLAH has said,

    Which means

"O Prophet, urge the believers to battle. If there are among you twenty [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome a thousand..."

You can win, but you must fight fair, you must maintain piety and ikhlaas. Please be smart. Do not taunt armed soldiers to open fire on civilians by throwing stones just because you hate to see them. Be smart and safe.

It is known that Hamas plays dirty, and thinks that Jihaad in the Shari'i way is idealistic and fantastic. This is wrong, and as such, people of the Sunnah cannot support them. The greatest scholars in recent times have explained the need for Palestine to cease their divisions and unite upon the truth. Shaykh Muqbil, said this in an excellent way:

“It is obligatory upon the people of Philisteen, and specifically those from the members of movement Hamas to take hold to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and to traverse upon the way of As-Salafus-Saalih, and to know that it is the Sunnah of Allah that there is no aid, or victory, or strength except by aiding Allah.

And the aid of Allah is by the aiding His religion, establishing His legislation, and traversing upon the methodology of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and his companions, and what the three praiseworthy generations were upon, the people of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah, and purifying the religion of Islam from everything that has been attributed to it from foreign beliefs, introduced ideologies, and newly invented matters, and rearing the people upon the pure Islaam.
And as for those who turn away from this way, then he is not from those who are victorious.
Allah says: “O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your feet firm.” (Muhammad: 7)
And He says: “Verily, Allah will help those who help His (cause). Truly Allah is All-Strong, All Mighty. Those who, if We give them power in the land they establish the prayer, pay the Zakah, and they enjoin the good and forbid the evil. And with Allah rests the end of all matters.” (Al-Hajj:40-41)
And His statement, “And as for the believers it was upon Us to help them.” (Ar-Rum:47)
He says, “Verily, We will indeed make Our Messengers and those who believe victorious in this life, and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth.” (Al-Ghaafir:51)
And He says, “Allah has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession in the land, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them authority to practice their religion which He has chosen for them. And He will surely, give them in exchange safety after their fear (provided) they worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Faasiqun.” (An-Nur: 55)
And the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, said, “There will not cease to be a party from my Ummah upon the affair of Allah, they will not be harmed by those who oppose them, or forsake them until the affair of Allah is established and they are victorious over the people.” (Saheeh Muslim)
And if we all consider his statement, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, “If you deal in interest, and hold on to the tails of the cow, and are content with agriculture, and abandon Jihaad, Allah will place upon you a humiliation, and will not lift it until you return to your religion.” (Collected by Abu Dawud, and Imaam Ahmad, and authenticated by Al-Albaanee in As-Saheehah no. 11)
We will find that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, made the return to the religion, in creed and worship, the foundation of victory and strength, and that if the Muslims do not return to their religion then they will remain in a state of humiliation and lowliness and their large numbers will be of no avail.
The proof for this is what was narrated by Thawbaan, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that he said, “The nations will soon summon one another to attack you, as people when eating invite others to share their dish.
Someone (of the sahaba) said, ‘Because of our few numbers on that day??’
He (the prophet) answered, ‘Nay, you will be numerous on that day but you will be like the foam of the torrent and Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies, and will place al-wahan in your hearts.’
Someone (sahaba) asked, ‘And what is al-wahn??’
He (the prophet) said:), ‘Love of the wordly life and dislike of death.'” (Collected by Abu Dawud, and Imaam Ahmad, and authenticated by Al-Albaanee in As-Saheehah no. 958)
In this hadeeth [is proof] that large numbers and gathering together is of no benefit, unless this gathering is upright upon the haqq, uniting upon it.
And therefore the members of the Hamas movement know that the methodology of which they implement is the methodology of Al-Ikhwaanil-Muslimeen, a methodology in contradiction to the true manhaj of Allah.
How is it not when it is a manhaj built upon fighting the correct aqeedah and its people.

    • A manhaj built upon abandoning the way of the salaf and bringing near the people of innovation.
    • A manhaj built upon uprisings, and revolting against order, and the rulers.
    • A manhaj built upon takfeer of the Muslims, and following the way of the Khawaarij.
    • A manhaj built upon ignorance and and bringing near the people of ignorance, and fighting the scholars (salafiyyah) and chasing people away from them.

So a manhaj the likes of this one, has lead its people to humiliation and lowliness, as the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, said, “And humiliation and lowliness has been placed upon those who oppose this affair of mine.” (Collected by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Albaanee in Saheeh Jaami no. 2831)."
Shaykh Muqbil also said, “As for Hamas then it will not be a help to Islam, in it is the Shi’ee, and the Hizbee Ikhwaanee it is a group of hizbiyyah, they don’t enjoin the good or forbid the evil. Instead they rebuke ahlus-sunnah. And if they received help they would do as was done in Afganistan turning their weapons against one another, because they are not upon one heart.” (Tuhfatul-Mujeeb pg. 228)

A non-Muslim said about the Paliestinian Israeli war (found on Facebook)

"THE MUSLIMS ARE NOT HAPPY! Where?
They're not happy in Gaza ..
They're not happy in Egypt ..
They're not happy in Libya ..
They're not happy in Morocco ..
They're not happy in Iran ..
They're not happy in Iraq ..
They're not happy in Yemen ..
They're not happy in Afghanistan ..
They're not happy in Pakistan ..
They're not happy in Syria ..
They're not happy in Lebanon ..
    SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?
    They're happy in Australia .
    They're happy in Canada .
    They're happy in England ..
    They're happy in France ..
    They're happy in Italy ..
    They're happy in Germany ..
    They're happy in Sweden ..
They're happy in the USA ..
    They're happy in Norway ..
    They're happy in Holland .
    They're happy in Denmark .
Basically, they're happy in every country that is not Muslim and unhappy in every country that is!
    AND WHO DO THEY BLAME?
    Not Islam.
    Not their leadership.
    Not themselves.
THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!
AND THEN; They want to change those countries to be like.... THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY!"

    End quote.

This person is likely someone who, has not canonically read the Qur'an or has no interest in Muslms or Islam being good. However, this observation is to an extent a reality...it applies to the masses of Muslims who do not understand their religion, and as such exhibit such ignorant behavior. This is all the more reason to go back to the basics of the religion and to understand what the religion has to do with everything in our own (daily) lives, and stop being people who's goal is to satisfy their personal desires. If you say you live to please ALLAH, read his book (in cannon and entirety) and study the sunnah and the way of the pious predecessors and you will find that acting in this way is contrary to al-Islaam.
